My Story

I began my midwifery career in 1998 as a rotational midwife in an Acute Hospital, working on the labour ward as well as antenatal and postnatal wards. I moved into the community in 2001 and provided many families with full antenatal care, including parenting classes, clinics, and screening. It was here I developed my passion for assisting infant feeding, supporting new parents to feed their new baby (regardless of their feeding choice) with an evidence-based, friendly approach.


In 2007, I completed the UNICEF Baby Friendly Initiative 3-day course, which further awakened my enthusiasm for infant feeding. I then became the link midwife for my community team. Part of my role is to also implement the UNICEF BFI standards in maternity and neonatal care and, working together with a great team, we have managed to maintain these since 2011 to present.


I became A Specialist Infant feeding midwife in 2013 and continue to support parents with more complex feeding issues within the NHS. 

Qualifications and Education

I completed the Advanced Clinical Skills in Tongue-Tie Management course at the University of Wolverhampton (Masters, Level 7) with my clinical practice at Russell Hall Hospital 2016. I continue to practice within NHS clinics locally, successfully performing many tongue-tie divisions (frenulotomy) and supporting infant feeding.


I am also a  lactation Consultant which is the highest qualification level in breastfeeding support and is recognised world wide .
