With all of my services, I work directly with you so we can find out what works best for you.
Preparing for Baby: Antenatal/Pregnancy Feeding Plans
From weeks 32/40) - £150 (120 mins) Home visits available on request
An individual antenatal / pregnancy feeding plan will help you prepare you and your family for feeding your new baby, providing tips and advice from myself, a Registered Midwife and Infant Feeding Specialist. This is to give you more confidence in what to do when your baby arrives.
Package includes:
- Discuss the importance of antenatal hand expressing before baby arrives
- Skin-to-skin contact after birth & beyond
- Positioning – getting it right from the start
- Attachment – how to effectively attach for successful feeds
- Knowing when your baby needs a feed before they cry for it (early feeding cues and how to identify)
- How is milk removed from the breast
- How to know if your baby is getting enough milk
- How to optimise milk supply and get feeding off to the best start
- Stages of feeding
- Home visits available
Tongue-tie & feeding observation( Breast or Bottle )
Assessment + Procedure - £200 (60mins) clinic only
The Tongue-tie package is available to babies from birth and up to 4 months of age and includes taking a full feeding history and/Breast or Bottle-Feeding Support.
Following a thorough assessment, if your baby is identified as being tongue-tied, I will be able to carry out the tongue-tie procedure (also known as a Frenulotomy). For more information on tongue-tie, see here. (link to tongue-tie & breastfeeding support page)
The procedure will only be carried out if indicated and once you have all the information you need to make an informed decision. This is offered within the same appointment.
Package includes:
- 1:1 feeding assessment (Observing your baby feed)
- Infant Feeding Education (Responsive feeding, relationship building, and early brain development)
- The importance of ongoing skin-to-skin contact
- Recognition of early feeding communication signs (feeding cues)
- Feeding positioning and attachment top tips
- How to know if what you are doing is effective and how to improve
- Lactation Advice, composition of breast milk, stages of feeding
- Expressing breast milk
- Bottle feeding advice (if required)
- Mixed feeding advice
- Support information
- Follow up Text or email support if required
Plus:
- Discussion re: rare risks of procedure and explanations
- Tongue tie assessment (objective scoring with HATLFF)
- Tongue-tie division (Frenulotomy)
- Post-frenulotomy observation of feeding
- Post-frenulotomy guidance, advice re: wound management, expectations, post-op exercises.
PLEASE NOTE: If your baby is found to not have a tongue-tie or you decide not to have the division or the division is not carried out at this appointment for whatever reason, the price will be automatically reduced - £150.
